An very interesting peace of history: Rare military periscope crafted in years 1948 in the Eastern block - in Russia (USSR) and Bulgaria, during the Cold War with aim to observe the capitalists from a hidden place LOL
Russia is a leader in making 1) optical devices, and 2) military items. The current periscope is a successful result of both skills
THIS MODEL IS COMPACT and light; I sell also one 50mm periscope, see my another listing
- Great precise optics: objective 35mm, adjusting eyepiece, two 90 degrees crystal prisms
- Metal water-resist tube (56 cm) - I suspect they intended it also as a backup weapon LOL
- special military tarpaulin case with exact profile to fit the device tightly
- and it has its original Service passport-book with some handwrite entered!
The device is preserved super carefully - just like only the militaries can care their equipment. Optically - super quality. Cosmetically - also without signs. Was stored all these years in a SPECIAL dry and dust free warehouse
P.S. On the one of the pictures there is shown a crosshair with measuring lines - the vertical ones look asymmetrical but please think deeper: these lines are intentionally applied a bit aside to not cover the observing object and it to be seen clearly! An wise solution indeed ;)
