You are bidding on a BeautifulBronze Sculpture Candelabra by listed
Architech, auther, lecturer, sculpture
and Artist Kenneth Treister (b. 1930).
Kenneth Treister is well known among the
Jewish community for his Holocaust
Memorial in Miami Beach Fl.
There were in my research a total of 31 one of these sculptures made. The first one was presented to Rabbi Schneerson by Kenneth Treister himself for the Rebbe's
birthday. The presentation occured after one of his late night sermons at his synagogue in Brooklyn, N.Y in 1974.
The Rebbe sent him a lovely letter of thanks.
The remaining sculptures were given to the founders of
Lando Lashiva Center (Miami). A founder of the school, who contributed ,000 established a perpetual scholarship in their name for a needy child to be able to receive a Jewish eduation from nursery school to rabbinical college.
I contacted the Mr. Treister a few years ago to get more
clarity on this piece in addition to other research I was able to complete. He said t
his menorah depicts on one side the celebration of the J
ewish holiday Simchat Torah
and on the other side the psalms, with
hills, lambs, stars in the firmament and angels blowing their horns.
The sculpture is entitled "Ner" meaning Eternal Light.
This piece represents in my opinion some of the
better artistic elements by Kenneth Treister.
It measures 9.75" tall by 11" wide.
Candles not included.
These were not numbered or signed.
It is a beautiful heavy bronze with a natural aging patina.
This would make a lovely addition to your home.
