    Israeli artist Dan Shamir grew up in Kibbutz Ma‘ayan Zvi
    At the age of  seventeen he was diagnosed having a disease affecting brain mechanism that regulates his waking and sleeping states
    ·
    Shamir began to paint before the disease appeared, but after being diagnosed he devoted himself to painting
    His artwork radiates optimism, while using intense colors that he believes reflect the way he sees life.
